FOR WHAT
The genre of short fashion films is actively developing around the world. The World Fashion Shorts selection includes videos from South Africa, North and South America, Central and Southeast Asia, Europe, Russia and Belarus. Together they create a picture of a huge diversity of cultures and expand the understanding of fashion. The experimental multimedia format of the WFS project emphasizes precisely this aspect of fashion films. Dividing into thematic video streams creates semantic volume - and it turns out that such general concepts as fashion or beauty can relate completely differently to specific aspects of our lives. How do we experience ourselves and the environment around us? How do we look for ways to express our feelings and show individuality? Ultimately, these are questions about who I am and how to understand and accept another. Fashion is just a tool, a language, one of many ways to talk about the world and people.
The project was first introduced to the audience on November 30, 2023 in the Multimedia Hall of the Artplay design center as a special event of the BRICS+ Fashion Summit, arousing great interest not only among its guests and participants, but also among a wide, mainly young, public.
